The codes are 100% new and functional. You can use them to get your game add ons, map packs, and everything else you can get, just like with normal MS Points. Check out the sidebar for proof pics from some users who have received their codes. Here’s a pic of my current MS Points balance on my Xbox Live Account.

Step 1: Register

The first step is to sign up to this site which gives out the Free Microsoft Points. The registration is quick and will take you less than a minute. Make sure you put your correct email address, as the MS Points will be sent to this email.

You will need to activate your account by confirming your email, so check your inbox+spam folders. You’ll get a 250 point bonus for confirming your email as well.

Step 2: Get Points

The next step is to earn ‘points’. Points are the currency on the website. You can get points by playing games against other users, taking part in tournaments/contests, doing simple surveys, and more! 9/10 users said that the easiest way to get points is by doing surveys.

A 4200 Microsoft Points code costs around 4900 points. If your lazy like me, it will take you about an hour or two to get that. A more dedicated user might get it in 10-15 minutes.

Step 3: Redeem Your Free Microsoft Points!

Here’s the best part, redeeming your free MS points! You can choose to have the code emailed to you or mailed to you, in the form of a giftcard. Most users pick the email option as it is much faster than the mailed code.  To redeem your code, search for the code you want and click it.

You can choose to have the code mailedto your house as a gift card, or emailed to the email address you signed up with. Most users pick the email option since its faster.

@Somer32 Sadly, no it’s not possible. The codes get emailed to the email you signed up with and you can’t change that. Just forward the email to your friend after you get it. :)
